James Welton
James trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a national top ten firm before joining Simpkins Edwards in 2013 as a Senior Manager. He was promoted to Director of Business Services in the Barnstaple office in 2016 and became a Partner in the firm in 2018.
In 2017, James qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor, to further enhance his technical tax knowledge and to offer an even higher level of technical tax advice to his clients.
James is a general practitioner and a Registered Auditor in Barnstaple and has a broad portfolio of clients across many sectors and industries. As well as providing personal tax advice to individuals he also advises on all aspects of accounts, audit, corporation tax and compliance for Limited Companies, sole traders and partnerships.
And another thing...
James is married with a young family, so much of his spare time is focused on his family. However he is a keen golfer and when he finds the time he can be found on the golf course. He is also involved in the local community as a school governor and is an active member of Bideford Round Table.
