We are looking for a part qualified Accounts Trainee or Assistant to assist with all aspects of accounts preparation for limited companies, charities, partnerships and sole traders. In addition, you will have responsibility for the preparation of basic tax work relating to the accounts, the preparation of VAT returns and some income tax returns.

Based in our Exeter office, your role is to provide VAT technical support to our busy and expanding team. You will ensure a prompt and professional service to all our clients, across business, trusts, charities and other firms of accountants. We'll expect you to further develop the VAT service line across the firm, both internally and externally.
Joining the firm at Manager level, you will take responsibility for a client portfolio, providing all-round accounting compliance and advisory services. The role will involve supervision of staff and review of their work as well as accounts preparation, tax compliance and advice, and business services including management accounts. The team acts for limited companies, LLPs, Partnerships and sole traders but we will tailor the mix of your client types to best match your skills and experience.
We are looking for a dynamic candidate to join our Exeter Audit Team. You will be responsible for the preparation of annual financial statements for small and medium sized limited companies and charities. In addition you will be involved in the completion of audit assignments. You will have a portfolio of clients matched to your audit role, with responsibility for managing the delivery of our services to them alongside the engagement partner. This will include dealing with both compliance matters and the delivery of ad hoc services throughout the year. Therefore the ability to form relationships with clients as well as demonstrating knowledge and understanding beyond annual accounts is important.
This role expects you to prepare statutory financial statements for limited companies and charities, undertake all stages of Companies Act audits, including planning, fieldwork, completion, stock take attendances and systems recording, as well as supervise and direct other members of the audit team. Whilst based in our Exeter office, this role does require travel.
