Here at Simpkins Edwards, we are finally bringing back our annual Really Big Quiz, after two years of postponement due to COVID. Back in 2019 – the last time the event was held – the quiz raised £7,314.25 for the Lord Mayor’s chosen charity, SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity. Over the past 17 years, more than £84,000 has been raised by the Really Big Quiz.
This year, we hope to bring back the buzz and raise as much money as possible for this year’s chosen charity – Inclusive Exeter – who bring together groups and individuals from diverse communities across the city of Exeter and beyond. They are a community-led organisation who hold and facilitate activities and events to improve relationships between communities and local and national services, fostering better integration and reduced isolation.
Taking place at the Corn Exchange on Wednesday 4th May from 6.00pm, the annual Really Big Quiz brings together Exeter’s best and brainiest quiz teams in what is the city’s largest event of its kind.
The quiz entails 8 rounds of brainteasers, and a bonus picture round, as well as a fantastic raffle and auction. All money, including the cost of the tickets, goes to the Lord Mayor’s charity of the year, Inclusive Exeter.
One of the biggest fundraising elements on the night is the auction, which this year includes a number of phenomenal items, such as a digital marketing review from Optix Solutions, worth a whopping £10,000, champagne and afternoon tea for two at Hotel du Vin, a guest day pass for two at Exeter Golf and Country club and many more.
Auctioneer, James Morrish, will once again be centre stage to host the raffle, auction and fan favourite, Heads and Tails.
With many businesses set to return to pit their wits against each other again this year, good luck to everyone attending and let’s raise money for Inclusive Exeter!
