Simpkins Edwards is proud to congratulate two members of the team as they celebrate a decade of working with us!
Megan Miller joined back in 2014 as a Junior Accounts Trainee. Over the past 10 years she has completed both AAT and ACA qualifications and is now an Assistant Manager with a portfolio of clients.
Louise Mitchell on the other hand, joined in 2014 as a fully qualified Accounts Senior with a view to becoming a Manager. Having moved from a much smaller firm there was a need to adapt to new procedures and structures as well as navigating a much larger building and remembering many new faces!
Whilst they both currently work predominantly with agricultural clients; they have had varied portfolios over the years from actors and singers to pubs. This demonstrates how varied a career in accounting can be; you will work with clients from a wide variety of different sectors and backgrounds.
Accounting is not just about numbers, but also about people and relationships. Last month we were awarded Large Employer of the Year by Exeter College, and it’s people like Louise and Megan who bring the award to life. 16% of our team have over 10 years of service with us, and 14% have surpassed their 25-year anniversaries! We’ve worked hard to make Simpkins Edwards a place where the team can develop communication, strategy, and commercial skills, as well as those all-important technical skills. Working alongside great colleagues, and supporting the community through volunteering and charity events, are just a couple of the extras that make up life at Simpkins Edwards.
